Signs that you are suffering from a head injury

In today’s blog, we want to share with you some signs to identify if you are suffering a head injury.

We often receive cases in our office from people who suffered an accident, and at the time, no injuries were identified, but over time they began to feel different discomforts. This commonly happens with head injuries. In many cases, it is up to days or months after that pain or discomfort appears. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the most common symptoms that the person is suffering a head injury are:

  • Headache or “pressure” in the head.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Balance problems or dizziness, or blurred or double vision.
  • Annoyance from light or noise.
  • Feeling sluggish, foggy, or lightheaded.
  • Slow answer to questions.
  • Confusion, concentration, or memory problems.
  • Taste and smell disorders.
  • Sleep disorders.
  • Amnesia around the traumatic event.
  • Just not “feeling good.”

Unfortunately, accidents happen unexpectedly and take us by surprise. If you suffered an accident or injury and noticed that you are suffering from any of these symptoms, you should know that if these ailments are not treated in time, they can worsen, and in many cases, the treatment is usually more expensive.

Remember, if you or a loved one were injured in an accident that didn’t become apparent until later, you still have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit, especially if the statute of limitations is still valid. You should retain the services of an experienced and professional personal injury attorney to pursue the compensation you deserve for: medical bills and lost wages, as well as any pain and suffering associated with the accident.
