  2. Welders: these workers are exposed to toxic chemicals and welding fumes, such as benzene, which affect the lung, larynx, urinary tract, and kidney cancer. This occupation causes a death rate of 16 welders in 100,000 workers.
  3. Aircraft pilots and flight engineers: With a fatality rate of 46 out of 100,000 workers, this occupation is high on the list of hazardous occupations.
  4. Truck Drivers: A hazardous occupation with a fatality rate of 42 per 100,000 workers primarily from collisions, truck drivers are also subject to various illnesses and injuries.
  5. Farmers and ranchers: Heat exhaustion, exposure to pesticides, being hit by equipment, vehicles, and objects, and the use of shears are the most common causes of farmworker injuries and deaths.
  6. Construction workers: More than 23 construction workers die for every 100,000 workers, with 75% having severe injuries, including falls from the roof, hernias from heavy equipment, electrocutions, exposure to silica dust and asbestos.
